The discoveries of fossils of half-eaten Ophthalmosaurs, as well as teeth marks in plesiosaur flippers are a clear indication of the voracious appetite of Liopleurodon. There can be little mistaking the vicious teeth of this hunter. That Liopleurodon means "smooth-sided tooth" seems almost too gentle for such a vicious killer.
